Dr. Melissa Bedford provides care that is collaborative, evidence-based, and free from judgement. She emphatically believes that healing doesn’t require perfect habits or perfect circumstances. She creates a space where patients feel heard, empowered, and safe to ask questions.
Dr. Bedford has two main areas of clinical focus: (1) hormonal & menstrual health and (2) cardiovascular health. She supports folks who have PMS, PMDD, painful periods, heavy periods, and irregular periods. She is also passionate about supporting folks throughout the menopause transition - from perimenopause to postmenopause. Dr. Bedford offers pap testing for both new and returning patients every Friday.
Prior to becoming a Naturopathic Doctor, Dr. Bedford worked as a Cardiology Research Coordinator at Vancouver General Hospital, and this is where her love of cardiovascular health started. She offers support in the areas of high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and diabetes/insulin resistance.
Dr. Bedford is licensed by the College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia (CNPBC), and is a member of the British Columbia Naturopathic Association (BCNA), and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND). She holds certifications in prescriptive authority and acupuncture.
