“I became a naturopathic doctor because I want to be the doctor that I wish I had as an athlete.”
- Dr. Larissa van As
Dr. Larissa’s story begins with music, movement & a pair of skates in a cold ice rink. She competed at the Canadian National Figure Skating Championships in Ice Dance from 2011-2013. Unfortunately chronic low back pain led her to retire from the sport & years later she eventually ended up in a naturopathic doctors office. After being inspired by naturopathic medicine, it’s philosophy & all it had to offer her, she became a naturopathic doctor herself.
Dr. Larissa believes in inspiring patients to take an active part in their healing process. Whether it's discovering new recipes, exercises or stretches they can do themselves, she wants to empower patients to take control of their health. Her goal is to create a space for her patients to feel heard & supported. She is continuously inspired by women’s health, physical medicine & skin care. She enjoys working with young women who struggle with menstrual irregularities, menopausal women, weekend warriors & athletes.
