Dr. Andrea Whelan, ND received her Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Calgary prior to completing her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine.
Dr. Whelan is a general practitioner who welcomes patients of all ages and levels of health. She provides compassionate and thorough care to each of her patients, with emphasis on a strong patient-doctor relationship as well as individual responsibility for health. She values the individuality of each person and works closely with her patients to dig deep into their symptoms, while considering the physical, mental, emotional, social and environmental factors that may be impacting their current state of health. By determining the underlying cause of illness, Dr. Whelan is able to prescribe treatment to support the body’s inherent self-healing process and empower her patients with the information and tools necessary to attain long-term health and well-being.
Andrea treats a wide range of health concerns from chronic disease to general health maintenance. Her areas of expertise include diabetes, chronic stress & anxiety, gastrointestinal disorders (IBS, celiac disease, anemia, food sensitivities) and endocrine imbalances (adrenal, thyroid, pituitary issues).
Dr. Whelan is a member in good standing of the British Columbia Naturopathic Association (BCNA), College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia (CNPBC) and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND). She is licensed to prescribe pharmaceuticals in BC.
