Dr. Amanda Svendsen was born and raised in the lower mainland and graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. She went on to pursue 4 years of Naturopathic Medical training at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in New Westminster, where she earned her diploma of Naturopathic Medicine. As part of her training, Dr. Svendsen completed a 2 year internship at the Boucher Naturopathic Clinic where she gained valuable clinical experience.
Dr. Svendsen has a family practice treating patients of all ages for both acute and chronic health concerns. She has a special interest in pre- and post-natal care, pediatrics, and digestive and hormonal conditions.
Following the principles of naturopathic medicine, Dr. Svendsen emphasizes prevention and uses a holistic approach in treating her patients. She provides a thorough assessment based on your history, laboratory tests and physical exam findings and will provide you with treatment options to suit your needs. Dr. Svendsen uses a variety of treatment modalities, including dietary and lifestyle recommendations, botanical medicine, homeopathy, and physical therapies. Dr. Svendsen is also board certified in acupuncture and IV therapy.
Dr. Svendsen is licensed by the College of Naturopathic Physicians of BC and is a member of the BC Naturopathic Association and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, running, cycling and spending time with her family and friends.
