Dr Asifa Maherali completed a BSc in Dietetics at the University of British Columbia. Having a keen interest in the relationship between nutrition and health, she pursued naturopathic medicine to explore this arena further. She graduated from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, Oregon. She is the founder and owner of the Kitsilano Naturopathic Clinic. Although catering to all aspects of illness, she has a special interest in women’s health issues and anti-aging medicine. Having more than ten years of experience in the alternative medicine field, she continues to enjoy updating her knowledge with the most current medical research.
Dr Maherali is passionate about teaching her patients about everyday health issues to empower them to achieve optimal health. At the clinic, we may employ dietary and lifestyle changes, clinical nutrition, including intravenous and injection therapies, botanical medicine (herbal), homeopathic medicine and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Dr Maherali has recently become certified in FirstLine Therapy©, an effective nutritional program to lose and sustain fat loss.
Every patient in the clinic is considered a unique individual and treatment programs are therefore tailored to the patient’s needs and health goals. Dr Maherali is a firm believer in implementing the least invasive approach initially. Treatment plans are designed to address the cause of illness, rather than utilizing a “band-aid” to treat symptoms. Patients are empowered with the essential tools and knowledge to take charge of their health and achieve their maximal potential of health and well-being. By focusing on natural non-toxic therapies and addressing the underlying cause of illness, one can not only realize their optimal health potential but also prevent disease.
